The Sixth Form (Years 12 and 13)
Thinking Ahead
It might seem strange to be thinking about September 2010 when we are barely out of September 2009, but all schools need to be constantly planning ahead and we are no exception. This month the focus is on our forthcoming Year 11 into 12 Evening on Wednesday, 9 December at 6.00pm which will inform students about opportunities for them in year 12 next September. We believe that now is a very good time to be part of Southfield 6th form. It is a thriving community with increasing numbers, and we are really looking forward to further developing the curriculum and opportunities for 6th form students over the next few years. The Head Teacher, Mrs Sue Dunford, has recently put together a list of reasons why students should seriously consider Southfield for their further studies and it shows very clearly what students will gain from being part of our 6th form. If you are a parent of or a student in year 11, please make sure you come along to the evening so that you receive all the information you need to make the right choices for you.
